Throughout my undergraduate years, I was curious not only about enhancing my knowledge in mechanical engineering but also in the business field. I applied to Stanford's Summer Institute for General Management (SIGM) and was fortunate to be admitted to the highly selective and prestigious business program in the United States.
Representing Egypt, I worked in various teams and communicated with more than 30 different nationalities. I gained a strong foundation in business management fundamentals such as finance, marketing, accounting, strategy, and economics. I also worked on enhancing my soft skills, such as public speaking, negotiation, and presentation skills with guidance from the faculty.
Finally, I presented a final project about the HR department practices in Amazon.com, Inc. and its effect on employee productivity with a team of four to the program directors.
After contributing significantly throughout the program through self-learning and seeking guidance from the faculty, I was awarded the Dean’s Award for excellence in academic performance and valuable contributions to classroom discussions.
